In the ready business, in Sindh prices of low type cotton gained Rs 50 to Rs 2250 and good type gained Rs 25 to Rs 2325, and prices in Punjab followed the same trend at Rs 2375 and Rs 2400.
Slight fall was seen in the supply position due to transportation problem ahead of the Eid-ul-fitr holidays, brokers said.
Phutti prices in Sindh stayed put at Rs 1025-1075, in Punjab retained the overnight level at Rs 1050-1100, dealers said.
According to the market, trading activity was low as most of the traders in Sindh were on the sidelines due to Devali and transportation problems.
They also said that most of the traders were looking in holiday mood, and talking about the next direction of the market after the Eid-ul-fitr holidays.
FOLLOWING DEALS WERE REPORTED: 600 bales of cotton from Shahdadpur at Rs 2275-2300, same figure from Tando
Adam at Rs 2250-2275, 200 bales from Bahawalpur at Rs 2300, 400 bales from Dera Gazi Khan at the same rate, 600 bales from Jahanian at Rs 2350.
